as a bit if a hornets nest stirer myself, i would say that you may as well
bight the bullet and give tham all what ever they want and give it to them
NOW!  the back lash of pro-active revenge and emotional blackmail/torture
inflicted upon you by my compatriates could become uncontrolable.  they
WILL get the upper hand, this is inevitable, and they WILL quite happily
bight it in the process.
 
you are embarking on what i could only regard as a losing battle, the
bench mark for what can and can't be done by your carpet conquistadores
has been set and if you persist in this futile attempt to remain 'the
boss' then i can only suggest that you prepare yourself for a complete and
unwavering refusal to use litter trays, be bathed, be quiet at any time,
and other intolerable things too sadistic to mention on a mailing list
open to children and those with a less than iron cast constitution.
 
the ball with the bell in it is now war danced into your court, do with it
what you will, but do not be hasty about your response, as knee jurk acts
of bravado can be quite catastrofic.
