We've noticed that for some meds it is cheaper, sometimes much more so,
to get the meds from our pharmacy than from any of the hospitals. That
is not true for all meds but for us it has been true for the Preds,
Florinef (Fludrocort), and Amoxi among some others. The pharmacies
simply buy them in larger quantities so they don't spend as much on them
as the vets do. For drugs which don't have as much human use a vet
hospital or a pharmacy which concentrates on veterinary meds can be
cheaper -- again for the same reason of their purchase price from the
manufacturers due to more purchasing of a given item.
