Yes, ulcers in ferrets are very like ulcers in humans.  In fact, ferrets
have been used in medical research on ulcers.
 
In both cases, ulcers are caused by the helicobacter bacteria (different
strains) and the treatment is generally the same as well: acid blockers or
reducers (pepcid, tagamet, etc), stomach coaters (carafate, pepto bismol)
and antibiotics.  My understanding is that amoxy itself may not eliminate
the helicobacter bacteria, but should be used in conjuction with flagyl or
biaixin for best results.
