I received quite a few requests for the name of the drug my vet uses for
euthanasia since it was a very peaceful way to go and thought I would post
for everyone.
 
She uses Euthesal (not sure of spelling), but an overdose of any barbituate
would do the trick.  You can give it via IV or inter-abdominal.
 
When given, the ferret just drifts right off to sleep and within a few
minutes their heart stops.  Hope this helps!
