Hiya,

My two year old ferret Petal, has been very poorly since we got her with
colitis. We go to the vets on a regular basis for steroid or antibiotic
injections. (The steroid seems to work better.)

The vet suggested a bland dog food called Chappie, but now she is
refusing to eat it. She has also gone off chicken for sandwiches and
will now only eat chicken breast lumps. (Being vegetarian this is the
closest I've been to meat in a very long time - yuk) Originally she was
fed on the ferret food from James Wellbeloved but now is fed on
Companions Choice which seems to be better.

Has any one got any suggestions for a permanent solution?? When she gets
ill she bites hard and won't let go:(

She also has a behaviour or allergy problem and consistently rubs her
head and paws and nibbles at her paws. She will do this till she is red
raw and lumpy nose. Again we have had numerous trips to the vets about
this and investigations have shown no ear mites etc. Has anyone got any
ideas?

Thanks

Livi
