Re: BFF and real Ferrets

Whoa, whoa, Karl. Was the tone of your note really necessary?? Although the
BFF discussion is off the domestic ferret topic, a lot of people here, at
least the way it seems to me, are at least mildly interested in other
mustelids. There are occasional postings here about minks, weasels, etc.
(Few others have complained about the the information posted here on
the Black-Footed Ferrets so I would assume some sort of interest level exists.)
I do grant you that some of the posts about the BFF's have been long and some
filled with emotion, but this is an emotional issue for some. But then your
post was longer and filled with more emotion than it needed to be too. It's not
easy to be concise and stick only to the facts when emotions are involved.

Don't wag their tails??!? Hahaha! Wait until one of your little buddies
gets *REALLY* excited! If they happen to be behind a bookcase, in a poster
tube, or some other small space their tail hitting whatever sounds like a
little machine gun! The Ferret Gun! ;) They also use their tail for balance/
counter-balance when jumping, climbing, etc. Many animals do and it's not
always that obvious. Also check out a ferret's tail when they are scared,
angry, or really excited. It gets *REALLY* bushy! All the hairs stand on end.
It is ferret body language. It's also a defensive mechanism to make
the ferret look larger or more imposing or to give a predator a false target.
