We found that a partial pancreatectomy is beneficial.  No medications were
ever needed for two years after surgery for the first ferret but for the
second ferret, prednisone was needed about 4 months after.  There is more
information on insulinoma and partial pancreatectomies in the FML archives
and on the internet through a search engine.
