My husband and I had a house fire Sunday.  Actually the chimney somehow
sparked onto the roof?  and caught fire.  Luckily our fire dept made
it there in less than 2 minutes.  We have always had a plan for when
something like this happens--BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...................
in getting the six kids out, the cage came apart and they got loose.  We
found five but were frantically running all over looking for Sammy.  IN
the meantime we are being yelled at by the fire dept. to get out.  We
were so upset at the thought that he was gone.
 
After the fire was put out we were allowed to go back in and look for
him and lo and behold................Sammy peeking out from under the
entertainment center!  Thank God!
 
Now they are at "day care" during my work hours and will soon get to go
to the new rental house and eventually back home.
 
Just wanted to remind you all to have a plan in your head at all times
for when something like this might happen.  We are so blessed and so very
lucky to have them all with us and everyone is ok.  The cage that came
apart was one of those pretty big numbers with the plastic bottom that
clips to the wire part.  It came unclipped and of course has since been
majorally repaired.  We also bought a couple more BIG carriers and have
updated "our plan"!
