    Well, as popular as the ferret chows are, my ferrets still eat high
quality cat food.  With the older ferrets, we go with a combination of
Dad's, Iams, and Science Diet food for adult cats.  I know that there are
problems if your ferrets eat from a communal bowl, but a mixture of the
above brands with Totally Ferret and Marshall Farms foods will certainly
lower the amount of protein that your older ferrets are taking in.
 
    Most of my older ferrets have their own bowls and eat by themselves.  We
watch each one when they get up not only to make sure that they are eating
the right food, but also that the younger ones don't push them out of the
way...
