Michelle,

This doesn't help much, but I thought I'd be a geeky enthusiastic
first year vet student and say that in a few years I will be a
ferret-specializing vet in the Virginia area -- I couldn't live with myself if
I became a small animal vet and neglected to give ferrets special attention.
My parents live in Bealeton, Va (Rt. 17 `tween Warrenton and Fredericksburg)
and my fiancee lives in North Carolina, and we plan on going back out that way
after finishing up school here in Illinois. Sorry I don't know anyone near
Roanoke who can help -- if no one can give you a clue, please let me know and
I'll call the vet I worked for in Charlottesville -- I just don't know if
he'll know about Roanoke, but he might, so let me know if you hit all dead
ends. :-)

(Incidentally, Chris, this email system is Banyan Mail -- if you're really
keen to know why it's such a rotten system and why we have such long email
addresses, as Dr. Ron Smith at [log in to unmask] -- he's our computer
 lit/epidemiology professor (interesting combo, huh?))
