Hi Everyone,
And Happy belated Easter. CJ has been stable for the past couple of
weeks. He has his good days and his bad. I just take it as it comes.
Right now he is eating a mixture of whipping cream, ferretone, and
chicken babyfood. Our vet gave us some meds that help stimulate his
appetite a bit so he is eating some kibble. Some days I set him down on
the linoleum and his legs slide out from underneath him and other days he
walks across just fine. He's definitely not the same as he was before
his bad episode that I posted here about a month ago, but he is eating
and seems alert. My poor boy had a little cold that I no doubt passed
on to him. I gave him some nose drops and that seem to help. I have
noticed though that sometimes he still scrunches his face up. Does
anyone else have a ferret that does that? Is this part of his having a
cold or could it be something else?

Also, while I was giving CJ noni juice, he was really grinding his teeth.
I was on a chat server around that time and someone there told me that
this was causing sugar spikes in him which ultimately led to his teeth
grinding. I stopped giving it to him and the grinding stopped. My vet
thinks he should still be on it. Any suggestions?

And lastly, I've noticed now that when I scratch CJ on the back of his
neck, he makes a little cooing sound. This is definitely new. He no
longer dooks but he sounds like a little dove. I know he enjoys it. He
stretches himself out and closes his little eyes when I do it. That
sounds he makes is a sound I've never heard before. Anybody else notice
that in their ferrets?

Anyways, CJ and I take each day as it comes. I spend as much time with
him as possible because I never know what each day is going to bring. He
is asleep on the bed as I type, curled up in a blanket. I thank God for
every day I still have him. It's a miracle to me that he's made it this
far.
