I learned an interesting thing to day from Dr. Matti Kiupel who is
a ferret specialist pathologist and is with the MSU Ferret Health
Advancement Group which it pays to learn about and be grateful exists:

Insulinomas can be multi-hormonal and on rare basis they can actually
produce estrogen. How is that for unexpected?

That seemed like the sort of thing which could be very useful to have
in the archives for when a rare case like that crops up.

The Ferret Health Advancement Group at MSU is always in need of
contributions. Yes, they are fully tax deductible since the donation
is to part of a state university. Studying the diseases of ferrets and
finding ways to save ferret lives is anything except cheap. If you can
find ways to help them the ferrets whose lives you help save may be
your own ferrets.

If you happen to know someone in the public eye who may be willing to
openly help advance ferret veterinary knowledge that could snowball
into other donations. Such contacts to pass along to the MSU group
would be greatly appreciated. It's all about saving ferrets, isn't it?

Sukie (not a vet)
