I'm quite sure the eye removal was for the best - there's been many
references to completely blind ferrets leading high-quality lives, so I very
much doubt a one-eye is gonna be slowed down much at all.  Better to get the
pain, trauma etc.  over and done with.

(PS: Wasn't Thor a ONE-EYED god in Norse mythology?!?!  Mebbe it was
