Agreed!!! Our shelter stopped using this med years ago. The ferrets
claw their mouths, puke, foam at the mouth, we've seen all of these
results. To me, giving this nasty medicine had more cons than pros-
We use Amoxicillin, Clavamox, Baytril, Cherry Pepto, Carafate.....
anything but Metronidazole. Our Vet of over 12 years said back in 1999
that Metro was more of a Guinea Pig, Rabbit, etc treatment.

I know using any meds depends on what you're treating-so, If you'd like
to talk with our vet, he'd be glad to give his "2 cents" Really.
