The Minister of Conservation was quoted on the TV news tonight (Sunday)
stating that he intended to tighten the regulations on ferret ownership
next month.  No details of his plans were given (the article was
predominantly about his plans to eradicate ferral stoats).
 
By the time this gets posted it will be Monday night.  Can any New
Zealanders on the list outside of Auckland please check Monday's papers for
any mention of the Ministers plans, and contact me if any detail is found.
I will be faxing the Minister on Monday night requesting an urgent meeting
prior to any new regulations taking effect.
