The judgement is in, not published yet but verbally relayed to Sal Gani, our
attorney. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO ALL YOU KNOW!!!

The judge ruled in favor of the state's case. I suspected this would be the
case all along. We feared the judgement would come down in such a fashion
on the weekend to give us no time to file an appeal. The judgement however,
also included a stay of execution until Monday June 9th at 3PM which allows
us time to file an appeal. This tells me that the judge believes our side,
but that he had to do the "politically correct" thing and decide in favor of
human life vs. ferret life.

I believe the judge knows there is NO CHANCE that Kodo has any type of
rabies. He's truely on our side all the way. He has given Kodo another
week of life for us to fight for his life!!!

Now for the really bad news. GLFA Legal Action Fund is currently
drastically low. We've expended most of the funds plus monies on some of
the officers credit cards. The appeal is $400 to file plus $1000.00 for
each days transcripts of the hearing.

I'm not going to beg and plead for help, but if you feel as strongly as we
do (for all ferrets, not just for Kodo), please dig a little deeper if
possible. The documents from the court specifically point at the "bat
strain of the rabies virus", guess what, there are no studies done on this
strain for cats and dogs either. Tell that to you friends and relatives.
If they slaughter our Kodo, who is to say that your cat or dog isn't next???
