For a week in May last year, Ron and I volunteered in the Black Footed
Ferret Reintroduction Program in Aubrey Valley, Arizona. One of the
things we did was night time spotlighting but were eluded by the BFFs and
didn't find any. When it was time to leave we were concerned for the
beautiful creatures but stayed hopeful they would make it out there on
the high desert by themselves with a good supply of prairie dogs.

In October 2001 the Field Station found their first seven wild-born kits.
This was a large success for the project and they are hoping to find more
this year.

Presently, the BFF reintroduction project is a bit short of help and
in need of volunteers. If you can help, please e-mail Tiffany Volz,
Wildlife Specialist. Her address is: [log in to unmask]
