According to the vid below - which is these exact same performers at
a different show - look at the slow motion at the end. Some of these
ferrets are falling head over tail from as high as this woman's
shoulders. So we're talking a fall of up to five feet - maybe a few
inches more if she's taller or had heels on.

So 12" - 14"? Not quite! Also notice how several of the ferrets seem a
bit stunned when they hit the floor - not moving for a few seconds.
