It was a very unusual day at de Bridge. In fact I had to go straight to
de Boss to receive dis note about dis fuzzy. Apparently He was worried
dat a note might get lost on its way down to de greeters. So here I was
at de entrance with de note in my paw leaning against de post when I
saw de little partially naked cinnamon fuzzy with de heavy backpack
making his way across de bridge. He was making pretty good time for
such an old guy too.

As he reached de entrance I introduced myself, "Hi Eppy, I am
SaraFerret and I am de bridgegreeter. Welcome to de Rainbow Bridge. Dis
is your new forever home. Here you will have no more pain or suffering
and you will run on green grass forever."

He just looked at me in amazement and said, "How do you know my name?"

I replied, "Oh Eppy, we have followed the adventures of Eppy with shock
and awe for so many years. The fuzzy who could fly out of a second
story window without wings and things like that."

He looked kinda sheepish and said, "Oh yeah, that stuff. I did worry
Mommy a bit with that stunt. Do you know my Mommy? I sure stayed with
her for a long time. It was lotsa fun there with all the ferrets. Well
at least we had a lot of ferrets for a while. Mommy said that there
would be other ferrets for me to play with here, but I don't see anyone
else here, but you."

"Well, Eppy" I replied. There are lotsa other of your friends here, but
just not right now, just be patient. I have a long, long list-- too
many too name. But I tell you what you can have lotsa adventures here
also. Now share with me what you have in your backpack."

"My backpack?" he said with fright. "What do you want with my backpack?
It has the only thing I have left from home."

"Eppy, I don't want to take it from you. I just want to see it. It has
been so long since I have been on earth. I am just nosey like any other
fuzzy."

So he carefully unzipped his backpack and took out a quilt which was
made up of de many hearts dat had searched for him and cared for him
and had rejoiced with his Mommy when he had rejoined his family. Den
he carefully refolded it and put it back into his pack making sure it
was just perfect.

Den he questioned me about de pain and suffering thing I had mentioned.
"Say you said something that I would be feeling great but I still am
naked and I still don't feel good, so what is up."

POOF! Suddenly Eppy suddenly was de beautiful cinnamon blaze and felt
great. And he began to dance with joy.

"Don't get carried away, Eppy," I cautioned. "Do you see these wings
on my shoulders. You will get a pair of these. Except for you, we are
going to load a GPS for awhile since you seem to have a bit of a habit
of wandering off. We wouldn't want you to be off in rabbit land and
become a rabbit, now would we.

Eppy got a laugh out dat. So off we went down de path to de Wing House
where de wings were stored. We opened de door and on de counter was a
big box (of course) and one gps monitor for a wayward fuzzy. He opened
de box and took out de wings--Bright Blue with silver streaks-- perfect
for a fuzzy who had lived so long. I helped him on with his wings and
adjusted his halo and gps monitor. (YES I KNOW--so unusual). Den he
ran to de big vanity mirror and gazed at his reflection and saw what
a handsome fuzzy he was. He turned to me and said, "Gee I wish Mommy
could see me now." Den I gots and idea.

As we went out de door, dere was a big passel of fuzzies--Eppy seemed
to know most of dem--well I can't begin to name all of dem. He knew now
he was not alone. So we continued down de road to de Misting Pond and
sat down beside de cool clear water. With one swish we saw a vision of
Mommy Donna and Cooper appear. Eppy started to wave and dook with all
of his might.

"I love you Mommy. I miss you Cooper. Thank you Mommy for loving me.
I is sorry Mommy that I played flying ferret. But now I really have
pretty wings now--bright blue wings. They say they will keep a close
eye on me so I don't go off like I did before."

Den he started to throw hugs, kisses, and promises to visit one day and
wrapped dem with all of his love and laid dem on a nearby shooting star
which was headed to your house and by de time you should read dis it
should have landed dere. And with another swish de vision was gone.

So we left dere and went another way toward Donna's Village where many
fuzzies lived. Food was laid out and music was playing. Eppy seemed
very surprised. "How did they know that I was coming?" he asked. "Oh
we have our ways." I replied. And so Eppy and I spent de rest of de
day talking about our various adventures of when we were on earth. I
told him about when I had escaped from my house and almost gave my
Mommy heart failure and so he chatted about his adventures. Dusk
settled over us at de Bridge.

So ended another day at de Rainbow Bridge

Lovey and hugs,
SaraFerret, bridgegreeter
