Despite Dr Otten's recommendation, I don't (and wouldn't) take my animals
to AMC in New York City.  When my vet (I travel from Manhattan to the
Bronx to see him) is at wit's end, I go to Virginia to see Dr Kawasaki.  I
suggest that you contact one of the Long Island rescues or "Modern Ferret"
magazine or "Parrots of the World" & ask what vet they use.
