What's the difference between loving a species of animal (for example,
ferrets) and having spirit guides?  And what are totems?  I'm assuming
just because you've always been say a horse person your whole life,
relate to them, and live your life around them does not make them a
guide or totem does it?
 
How do you know these things (what your guides, totems, and just plain
loves are)?
