Hello from a Beautiful Indian Summer Day in Seattle!

At the end of August, Sharon B. <[log in to unmask]> asked the FML for
donations to go towards surgery for a little female ferret. Her aunt was
to crochet a hammock or afghan for a minimum donation of $15. My husband
James and I felt that was a great way to give money for a great cause, so
we sent a check for $25. Not only did we receive a beautiful hammock for
our three ferrets, but Sharon included a jingly ferret toy which the boys
love as well, plus a sticker and a pin, all accompanied by a handwritten
note of thanks.

We were so impressed by the return gesture, which seemed worth so much more
than what we gave (considering the money was for ferret medical care) that
I feel compelled to write on behalf of this group of ferrets in need. The
handiwork on the gifted items are of store - bought quality and are well
worth a minimum donation of $15 (come on - give $20 or more in the name of
one of your ferrets or another family member!)

If all donations were met with this level of follow up, I believe people
would donate more. (Wasn't this a topic of discussion early in the summer
on the FML?) To receive more information please contact Myself or Sharon B.
at provided email addresses.
