Today I just gave up guessing when I will get out of here. I finally
got hold of Tamrat, the lawyer. His task was to call Saba, the most
disruptive old partner, and get confirmation that she and her mother
Ababa were going to sign the Amharic version of the minutes. Just as I
asked him if he hadn't reached Saba because her phone was switched off
or because he'd been too busy, the phone line quit. It's been five days
since he got the assignment to confirm that the signatures would be
made.

This morning, via a phone text, I told Fasika, the car buyer, that
there has been this delay and gave him the option of quitting the deal
or waiting. Apparently he got all pissed off. What a baby. His criminal
associate called Abrahame this aft and wanted to know why I wasn't
working fast to get the deal done. Abrahame told him what was up. But
Fasika already knew it, presumably told Fikadu, and so....?

These goons. I do hope they decide to take their money back. I hate
working with them and am a little intimidated too.

Also I've gotten an offer of a good deal more for the car. But given
the orig guys' bad rep, I don't want to be the one to call the deal
off.
