Today I took my babies Echo,Tally, Toby and Lucy to get their yearly
vaccinations. The exams went fine; all are in fine health, including Lucy
with her insulinoma is doing well. Then the vaccinations; a breeze because
they have all had them before, right? Because of my readings in the fml I
made sure we would stay at least a half hour afterwards, and Dr Middleton
was ok with that. Then it happened: first Echo, then Tally went into
anaphylactic shock from the vaccines. The vet and his team took swift
action with the steroids and O2 and I am going right now to pick them up
after being observed for the day. They are fine, thanks to the swiftness
of the Village Animal Hospital and my decision to stay after the
vaccinations. Toby and Lucy of course had no reaction; but that doesn't
matter. PLEASE stay at the office after you get your babies vaccinated, it
could happen. Echo and Tally are five and had never had a reaction; but
never say never. Tonight we are hugging and kissing and playing a lot
closer.

A special thank you to Dr. Chris Middleton, and lots of ferret kisses.
