Hello to all. My condolences to all who have suffered loses of their
little loved ones. It has not been a kind last few weeks for a number
of people I know in the community.

Zoo of Zoos Ferret Sanctuary received two large boxes of hand made
ferret bedding for Bisquit from a Karen Poehlein.. I do not know her,
to the best of my knowledge. Anyone know her email?

She called to tell Zoo how she was praying for Zoo and Bisquit,
and after a chat, told her the story of finding a cat someone had
brutalized. She rushed it to the vets and promised the cat that if
she lived, she would provide a loving forever home. And she has.

In order to do so...the babies inside the mom had to be taken out of
her and would not survive. If the babies remained inside of her...the
cat would almost surely die. And the babies would not have a sure shot
at survival.

It was a situation similar to the book Sophies' Choice: you never knew
until the end of the book what the choice was. She had to chose if her
son or her daughter would be sent to death immediately from the
concentration camp they had all been sent to. What a dreadful decision
to face. Yes, I know there is a huge difference between ones human kids
and a cat. But a sensitive soul would face a very real painful dilemna.
There could not be a happy ending for all.

It gave me the warm fuzzies to learn that this woman Karen made a
choice to save the older and injured cat as opposed to trying to save
the unborn kittens that so many other people might have chosen. That
she paid to save the cat had me in awe of her. Someone had viciously
stuck it on a post, if I understand the story correctly. We all know
what vet bills would have come with that rescue.

The bedding that came was like looking at happiness. It was a blizzard
of pastels. So much bedding! It is quilted and no two are alike in size
or color or pattern. The postage alone to ship out these two big boxes
was ALOT. The workmanship took us all by surprise. These must have
taken many many hours of labor.

Zoo tells me that Karen told her that with the crochet eggs that she
also sent, she prays over each one upon completion for the ferret the
gift is going to for the ferret to have a loving forever home. Bisquit
has one of these now. I guess I had better comply with that prayer.
Hopefully, we have many more years ahead to share.

Now that Zoo has confirmed my belief that Bisquit urinates in the
middle of floors more often and in more quantity than even she has
ever seen...I have a new knick name for my baby: The Urinator. (YOU
know...instead of the Terminator? You would perhaps have to slip on
his urine multiple times a day to understand the humor in that.)

To Karen Poehlein:Thank you dear gentle soul. I can laugh about Bisquit
now. But I also sobbed several times today, including driving home. It
just hits me in the face sometimes ...how close we came. What he looked
like. Greg showed me pictures in his car...the burnt pain face. And
then the joyful goofy healed face. I caused to burnt pain face.

If anyone has the email of Karen, who did not condemn me for what I did
to my baby, but boxed up all these soft hammocks for my boy, please
send this to her.

Thank you all again for your love and prayers and forgiveness. The kind
hearts in the ferret community are deep and gentle.

Hugs to you all this lovely summers day.

Lisette
