Hi, my name is Tara and I am emailing in a last ditch effort to find
some help for our ferret. We bought our ferret last year from a pet
store in our area. He is a Marshall Ferret and we were told he was
neutered and descented. However a few months ago he began to have
problems with an impacted scent gland, that has since turned into a
chronic problem. We have been treating him with antibiotics when it
flares up, which is pretty much constantly, and he is at the point
now that the antibiotics are no longer working. The surgery to remove
the glands runs around $500-$600, and try as we might we have not been
able to come up with the money. I am hoping that maybe you know of an
emergency grant or some type of financial help that I might take
advantage of to help us get our ferret fixed. I am feeling really sad
and frustrated because this is a problem that we should never have to
be dealing with in the first place since his scent glands weren't even
supposed to still be there:(

I'm just not really sure what to do and hoping you might be able to
offer some advice.

We are located in Spokane, WA and the vet who is doing the surgery
is Dr Sledge at Peone Pines Vet Clinic.

Thank you so much for your time.

Tara
