Matan,

I've had jills come back into season just a couple of weeks after delivery
of a litter. It doesn't seem to matter if it a large or small litter (one
had 7 kits while a couple others had 3 or 4). All but one of the the times
the jill swelled and looked to be coming back in season but then just when
I thought it was time to put them with my V-hob - the swelling started to
go down on it's own. So keep and eye on her, she should be fine for 2-3
weeks even in season. If the swelling does NOT start to go down, then
make arrangements with your vet for the hormone shot. (You might want to
contact him now incase he has to special order the drug) The older the kits
are the better since if they are nursing they will get the drug into their
system also. My vet recommended waiting until they were at least 4 weeks
before I gave her a hormone shot. Since I start them on "Bob Church's
Chicken Gravy" at 3.5 weeks they then start to taper off on the nursing as
much.

Hope the kits are doing well. I have 3 litters right now ranging from
4 - 7 weeks and have 3 more jills due this weekend. Been making the
Chicken gravy in double batches. :>) You can check out the my litters
and progress of the ones due this weekend on Heart of Ohio Ferret Assoc.
(HOFA's) website listed under the kits available.
