I said I probably wouldnt be answering mails for a few days, but I had a
mail from someone that raised a point about administering fluids to the
abdominal area, and that they have been advised that this shouldnt be
done in a ferret.
 
So I need to ask you guys if anyone has heard similar advice, because
if this is the case I intend to raise it with his senior partner at the
practice when I go in next time, Just in case he has another ferret
patient, if he is making bad decisions because of a lack of knowledge
then I think it should be sorted out now.
 
Oh... I WONT be taking Rhoobarb or Skweek there, from what I hear most of
the vets there now are recently qualified and lacking in experience, a
few people in town have expressed concerns at the direction the practice
has taken since the founder left earlier this year.
 
The girls are obviously missing that big ol Warweezil, they spend a lot
of time out wandering round looking here and there, stopping to stare at
me, I could swear Skweek *looks* depressed like something in her facial
features has changed, both are much quieter than usual and none of the
normal rough and tumble has occurred, thier play is very restrained and
short lived.  Im trying to keep thier spirits up, but how do you cheer up
a ferret?  I havent heard a single Dook since last Thursday night, thats
not normal here.
 
The tears still fall when I think of him, his ashes will be back next
week, and before then, I have to bring myself to removing the name plate
from the cage, that was an xmas prezzie to him from my family last year.
I guess it will get easier in time, He taught me a lot about ferrets, he
was a first ferret of the highest order, and instilled in me a love of
fuzzies that I will carry with me always.
