I'd first ask the manager for the headquarters 800#..  I know they have one,
they advertise it on TV..  All the stores here in Az.  have a big sign that
says they DO NOT sell ANY animals, there are too many already, so they
donate space to help place shelter animals (dogs & cats here)...
 
I think that store may be violating corporate policy!!  I personally would
feel out this guy if he seems not to be taking care of his ferrets, would he
like to find them a new home, & connect him with one of the shelters for
ferrets (see the database)..  maby even be a go-between....  Maby he's
"bored with them", & you could help find them a better home..  SIncerely,
