Bill HB0464 was passed yesterday, last night actually.  3-31-03.  It now
proceeds to the Senate.  It will be on the Senate floor no later than May
1 and a law no later than May 16.  There will be 3 short reads on the
Senate floor and voted on at the last read.
 
It will be acceleretad if they feel an urgency to get it through.
 
This law will affect every alternative therapist and all owners of
animals in Illinois..  It is imperative that EVERYONE spread the word
and contact your state senators.  Phone calls are enormously responsive.
So are letters, faxes.  Contact the newspapers,, clubs, groups,
organizations,..  if you value your career as an alternative therapist or
as an animal owner to have the freedom to just pick up the phone and call
a therapist BECAUSE YOU WANT TO AND IT'S SOMEONE OF YOUR CHOICE OR BUY A
NEURTRACEUTICAL WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION, then do not delay as there is no
time.  If you value the fact you can pick up a catalog and order
glucosamine, then you need to pay attention.  Because when it's all cut
and dried, those rights will be gone in Illinois and other states are
there or right behind.  The AVMA and their drug company backers, like
Hill's Science Diet and Bayer are very serious about stamping out
complementary, alteranative and integrative competition.
