discolored tail tip

i have 2 albino ferrets.  one of them has always had a kink in his tail as
if it had been broken at some time..  well now i am noticing a bit of hair
loss at the tip of the tail and the tail skin is a purpleish blackish
color..  any ideas?  should i be concerned?
