I am assuming you mean me and I am from CA not FL.

First of all my decision to get a Ferret was not a light one, I spent 4
years thinking about it and read everything there was to read about it and
made sure I found a Ferret friendly vet (I researched him before I even
thought about bringing the fuzzy to him), the vet I chose is 10 minutes
from my house and he is incredible with my fuzzy (he is very informed and
spent over an hour giving me information on Ferrets and things I should
look for and do in case of emergencies. He was so great I switched my
cats care to him too.

Also, I am very careful about who knows about my fuzzy and I have decided
not to bring him out in public anymore (I have a back yard he can frolic
in when I want him to get fresh air).

I also have a pet sitter that is experiences with Ferrets.

And....about getting him confiscated: I can run faster than they can, I
have a back door and I have an alternate house I can stash him in just in
case. At this moment I am looking out for the welfare of my fuzzy and the
fact that I think he misses other ferret companionship. I am not set in
getting a second one but I like to be informed before I make decisions.
If for some reason the wild life and fish Nazis give me reason to panic I
will drive him out of CA myself before I surrender him to them.

Last thing, we may move out of CA within a year anyway so this will all be
moot and I can't wait to be able to bring him out and not be scared of who
sees him. All of you who can do such things consider yourselves lucky.

I think I am done defending myself.
Thanks
