Hi all...
For anyone that read Michelle's post yesterday about our lil fert Lucky
I have some great news.  His blood work came back with asolutely no
infections or other hints to what might have caused his seizure.  He wasn't
specifically tested for distemper but the vet mentioned that an infection
(can't remember if it was stomach or intestine) was a major syptom of
distemper and our lil Lucky is infection free.  Now we have to take our 8
month old Spaz in to re-do his shots and this time receive the distemper
booster as well.  Fortunately Pudge only needs the booster because he is
still young enough.  I must admit I share Michelle's outrage at not being
notified about our boys needing a booster over and above the shot(s) they
get from the breeders.  I know initial cost may deter impulse buyers but I
(we) are committed slaves to our fuzzbutts and $$ isnt really an issue.
The thing that really upsets me is that we could have lost our boys because
we were ignorant about something I think we should have been told about.
I know some are going to want to flame me (us) because we should have
read and studied and blah blah blah..... but shouldnt there be some
responsibility on the breeder or pet store to inform customers of something
like this???
 
Anyway, back to Lucky's problem.... We could and may yet get x-rays to help
find a reason for this seizure but the vet has suggested for now that one
of the best things we can do is closely monitor Lucky to see if it happens
again and we pray it doesnt.
 
I'd love to hear from some other fuzzbutt slaves that may have gone through
anything like we have and what were the causes/outcomes etc.... Feel free
