Hi,

My Chong always follows me and stares at me intensely. She has done this
since she was a youngster. I think it is a mixture of strong curiousity
and boredoom. Maybe she is intrgued by human behavior as much as I am
intrigued by ferret behavior. Now Chongie is very intelligent and the
alpha ferret and I think that has something to do with it also. She sees
us both as leaders and wants to take her cues from me and also maybe is
trying to keep me in line and watches to make sure I am behaving in the
correct manner according to her sense of ferret protocol She does keep
all the other ferrets in line. She still will give me a nip or too at
times, for whatever reason she thinks necessary(?) Also, she will groom
me with a little nip thrown in ffrom time to time. All this other
behavior developed over time as she became older.

When she was younger, she resisited being picked up and cuddled. But I
would do it anyway for brief moments. As she has gottten older, she
actually wants to be picked up and will seek me out to be cuddled and
scratched and rubbed.

So when she does follow me around I try to fgure out what she wants,
sometimes a treat, sometimes a trip to another room, a cuddle, to look
up in the window and sometimes she just likes to watch me.
