Enough already...

Giving a gift is just that... It isn't required. If someone doesn't want
to, then don't. It's supposed to be about doing something for someone
without expecting anything in return. And as far as being thanked goes...
The ferrets can't send a card or an email, but I can almost guarantee
that they need and appreciate whatever they get! And while getting them
what they ask for *might* not be fun for some, it *is* what their humans
believe they want and/or need. Maybe those that complain should remind
themselves *why* they're doing it and ask themselves *who* they're
(really) doing it for.

It's not about being recognized, either. Yes, receiving a "thank you" or
some sort of acknowledgement is nice, but don't expect it. Some shelter
folks really don't have enough time. Again, *who* are you really doing
it for, and *why*? I gave to nine different babies last year, and it was
the most fun I've had at Christmas in a long time. It didn't matter that
a couple of shelter parents didn't send a note or a "thank you". It made
me happy just knowing that these little ones would have something for
Christmas.

This year I've decided to give to an ADV ferret. And, as asked, I am
making a donation to research.

Happy Holidays!
