I received a sample of a new product called Nivea Soft in the mailbox
the other day and decided to give it a try on poor old Spaz, who has
next to nothing for hair, and skin that continues to be dry and flaky.
For those of you not familiar with Spaz, he also suffers from cutaneous
lymphosarcoma and possible adrenal disease. Spaz has been through 9
surgeries to date in the last two years and is approx. 9-10 years of age.

I am not fond of using cosmetic type products on animals if I don't have
to, but other things have not work as well as this one. So far, using
Nivea Soft keeps his skin from drying out a full day with one application.
I have used this product for approx. one week. It absorbs very well
into the skin. He does not eat it or try to lick it off, and I myself
have tried it, to which I find no bitter or unpleasant aftertaste.
Spaz's appearance has greatly improved and I would at this point recommend
perhaps trying this product if you have a bald ferret that has a problem
with dry skin.

I will, however, continue to monitor for any side affects or skin
reactions after prolonged use, but to this old gal, this is a huge relief
to finally find something that relieves his dry, flaky skin condition
where little has helped before.
