To respond to "A final thought on raisins, scientific proof and other
things"
 
I have first hand of vet schools, vets and research.  The main thought
with raisins: Anything is excess is is bad.
 
Vet Schools take hundreds of years of experience, and medicine and try
to cram in into four years.  The last year is dedicated to clinics,
"rotations".  Most of which are required like, small animal orthopedics,
small animal internal medicine, small animal general medicine and large
animal.  Their is no specific "ferret rotation".  The vet has to be pro
active towards ferrets.  The medicine towards dogs and cats is the same
towards ferrets.  University do research, not veterinarians.  Would you
like to bring in 30 dogs or cats and have your vet conduct research on
them?  Vets are aware of the information through vast orgs.  like AVMA,
JAVMA just to name a few.  Also their symposiums conducted at
universities that discuss their research.  All kinds of knowledge is
presented to them, veterinarians just need to take it upon themselves
to learn it.

Their is no problem getting hold of ferret related research.  Yes it is
in an exotic vet mag.  Ferrets are not as common as most people think.
Finding a ferret vet is the key.  You don't take your dog to an equine
vet~
