I have a question about a skin problem on my 2 year old ferret.

Shortly after we got her 2-3 months ago we noticed she was biting at a "hot
spot" on her skin, which we assumed was caused by either a flea bite or a
reaction to flea shampoo we had used: small pink area with tiny raised spot.
Brought her to vet, he provided a cream called Panalog to be used 3x/day.
Within a week or 2 she seemed to stop biting at it & raised spot
disappeared, but hairless area around original spot enlarged slightly &
around edges of it yellow spots would appear at base of hairs.

Condition seemed to lessen & we stopped applying cream... a few days ago I
noticed that she now had a far larger bald area, maybe 1/2 inch x 1 inch.
It seems like the yellow spots appear at base of hairs & then the hairs will
just pull out, & apparently not regrow, as the spot is enlarging. It doesnt
seem to bother her at all. Ive started applying the cream again & will call
vet tomorrow - but if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Does
this sound like the adrenal pattern? Or more like a fungus or bacterial
thing? etc. Our small town vet has ferret experience but is not a
specialist or expert... Thanks very much.
