:) have had this problem before when i worked at a pet store...but not
with my own ferrets... the big question here is...what are you using for
litter?... and what do you have on the bottom of the cage...if anything?...
if it is the same as in the litter box...that will be a problem...
 
and does it have a hammock or something else to sleep in?...
 
also...maybe try putting some of it's poop in the litter box so it knows...
 
also...what about getting a second box like the one you have for it to
sleep in...while at the same time putting the poop in the other box...?
