Melissa here,

Well, i wrote on Christmas about how three of my ferrets were ill with a
cold, and this is a little update to that. I got them back the day after
xmas and they were still pretty sick - lethargic and *VERY* sneezy - they
kept rubbing their noses along the carpeting to wipe them clean. Cute! But
it just made me feel worse for them. :( Instead of rushing them to the vet,
which i always do, i turned the temp up in their room a few notches and
provided them free access to a daily refreshed small supply of flavorless
kid electrolyte (generic drug store brand, identical to Pedialyte, but my
kids don't like the Ped flavors). I sent them to the vet today with John
because they'd been the same for over a week, with just minor improvements -
anyone else seen such a lengthy cold virus run in ferrets? No diarrhea, no
vomiting, just sneezing and sleepiness.

Anyway, we've got gobs of amoxi to give them, so we'll see soon if they get
better. And they called Noodle, Friday, and Easel "the Litwicki family" at
the vet's! Cute!

Melissa
