I can't really comment on the medical problem - hopefully Dr Williams
can help you there - but have you tried crushing up his regular food
and mixing it with some chicken baby food and maybe some Nutrical?
 
Sick ferrets love to be hand fed, so you may have to do it for a while,
but if you can get him to eat this mush mixture, it will allow you to
get some good nutrition into his system.
