If you avoid the red (which will crumble eventually to ferret chewing
around the ends) you can buy the black version, which will not crumble.

Also - don't let them have any toys in their cage. Only during
playtime. If the ferrets are free roam, when you're not home, pick up
toys. Not so easy if they hide them, though. I would let them have the
black ones all the time. The red, here, are rarely chewed anymore --
they are more like "babies" or "treasures" that get stashed away for
safekeeping by our toymaster, Grey.
