Please bear with me as I have had little time to write to everyone. I do
not even get time to completely read FML now !!!!!!!

My friend who helped me feed the deer is engaged now, and can no longer
take turns to help me feed a small herd of deer we found too weak to even
stand about 3 years ago. We were able to keep 5 of them alive through the
winter when we started.. The herd is still small-but healthy now.

I cannot just stop feeding them in the winter. It would be like suddenly
not feeding the small birds anymore in winter. It is same as murdering
them- to me.

I take Baby with me. We slip through slush and ice and snow making
multiple trips carrying heavy bags of corn, salt blocks, apples, and deer
blocks of food. Baby loves going anywhere. She is on meds now that may
allow her to live a few more months. . She mostly sleeps in her sack when
we leave food for the deer. But she kisses my hand and makes happy noises
in her drowsy state.

The cancer just removed again from Wolfs back has Just started growing back
to where I can feel it. He just had surgery again in Oct. of 1999. Both
Wolf and Baby are on the path that leads to heaven now. I just take it one
day at a time. And I spend quality time with my wonderful companions.

Cat, my feral cat, somehow got the screen door open a little and escaped
yesterday. He left the screen door open. And so, I walked into the room
that is one gigantic window facing this lovely field. I usually stop to
appreciate the view. There -in the field- was Socks---my little deaf
blaze-running all over the place like a demented being!!!!!!!!!!! And
there was Cat-already slinking off in the bushes by the lake.

I ran out in the snow and ice in the field barefoot, in my pajamas, with
wet hair. Socks was frightened, cold, tail bristled, and leary of me-as
though I was a strange animal. I probably looked like one. I was lucky
to finally catch him. I had to get dressed, grab a bucket of water, and
throw it on Cat to get his poor restless butt back in the house.

Anyway, my apologies if I cannot write to everyone as I used to. Life is
chaotic right now.

P.S.
PLEASE save your lint!!!! Spring will be here before we know it, and the
birds will need nesting material!!!!!

Love
Lisette
