Hi Folks,

With the discussions currently going on about the vet issues, perhaps it
would help for us to offer a link to one of our educational brochures that
is up on our website:

http://www.neferrets.org/id46.htm

New England Ferret Foster, Education, and Rescue, Inc (NEFFER) has 4
educational brochures which we've added to our web page under "Educational
Information". The fourth one in this series is "Choosing a Vet That's
Right For Your Ferret". You can click on the link on the page and pull up
the text of the brochure. The information includes questions to ask to
find out if a vet is ferret-knowledgeable, as well as various things to
think about when choosing a vet, the kinds of things you'll be dependant
on your vet for, as well as the kinds of things your vet will expect out
of a relationship with you, a ferret owner (besides payment).

If anyone would like to check out this information, maybe it will help
ferret owners in their quest for a vet who knows what they are doing with
ferrets and cares about the quality of their relationship with you as a
client and your ferret as a patient. They do exist! This information
was compiled to help ferret owners find such vets.

This information is also available in the form of an educational brochure
which ferret groups, shelters, and clubs are most welcome to reproduce and
distribute in the hope that it will help as many ferret owners as possible.

If you would like a copy of the brochure sent to you (it can be sent in
Word), please send us an e-mail request. If you would like a hard copy of
the brochure, please send us a stamped self-addressed envelope (information
is included on the web page). The brochure can be photocopied and
distributed as long as it remains intact and the copyright information is
left on it.

If anyone would like to look at it, click on the link above. Anyone
interested in a copy e-mailed or mailed, please get in touch with us.

Hope it helps!
