I used to have a problem with mice years ago before I got my first ferret.
When I saw the first one I went through the house with steel wool and
plugged any areas where pipes entered etc. I was catching one a week or
so in traps even after doing all that. When I got my first ferret I
stopped using the traps (for obvious reasons) but I never saw another
mouse or droppings again. Which led me to assume the mice could smell
the ferret and decided to move to a house that was less dangerous. Well
guess what? I have a little gray friend now who peeked out at me from
under the dust ruffle on my bed this morning while I was getting ready
for work. He then scurried out from there and ran into the bathroom and
squeezed his little body into a tiny space in the access panel to the
whirlpool tub. Do you suppose he knows the ferrets are gone and that
he will be safe here now? Have any of you ever had any experiences with
your ferrets and mice?
