The other day we got a phone call asking if we had any prairie dogs for
sale or adoption. Jim had answered the phone, and he told the caller,
"No, only ferrets." The caller persisted, asking if he was sure. Of
course he was. She then asked if we had any of a list of animals,
including some bird species. He answered "No, only ferrets." At this
point he was getting a bit annoyed with the caller. She then identified
herself as calling from the FDA trying to track down prairie dogs and
other animals due to the monkeypox outbreak. He again told her that we
only had ferrets, didn't know anyone with prairie dogs, and they were
welcome to come and inspect us at anytime, with or without advance
notice.

Anyone else get a call like this lately?

Anne
