Seems there is an outbreak of canine distemper in the Salem, Oregon area.
Wildlife officials indicate about 20 raccoons have been put down since
mid-January and animal shelters are reporting high numbers of strays with
symptoms.  As far as we know, no ferret shelters are reporting any cases.
 
Hopefully, everyone in the affected areas can take proper precautions and
make certain animals are utd on vaccines.
