We have a ferret showing some potentially very serious liver problems.
External symptoms are lethargy, diarrhea, and rapid weight loss, with some
hind limb weakness.  We think it could be related to a recent distemper
vaccination, although viral infection has not been ruled out.
 
Has anyone else had unusual distemper vaccination reactions this year?  I
don't mean allergic reactions that show up within the hour of the shot, but
unexplained illness in the following weeks.  If you have seen distemper
vaccination reactions like this in the past few months, please contact me.
I would like to know what you saw and what your vet did, as well as the
name of the vaccine.
 
Also, if you have seen viral liver infections, i would appreciate hearing
more about it.
