Hello, hello!

Funny timing- I was just going to write a similar post myself. After day in
and day out worry about my "boys" being too hot and suffering ill effects to
their health, I finally broke down and bought a window unit. Never mind
that I don't have air conditioning; my boys do!

I can't tell you the relief I feel knowing that in this terrible heat, my
guys are cool and comfortable. I used to come to work and worry until I got
home and then tried every conceivable route to cool everyone down- fans, wet
towels, relocation, you name it.

Trust me- if you don't have an air-conditioned ferret room, it is a good
goal. Save up the money, look for a no-interest/no-payment sale, hunt
through flea markets and the newspaper, whatever. The peace of mind is
fantastic.

A few summers ago, my Bean (then five years old) developed serious stomach
ulcers. I honestly believe that they were a direct result of the dreadful
heat that we experienced. Even my young boys seem very adversely affected
by the heat. I'm so happy that I don't have to worry any longer, and I
can't recommend an air-conditioned ferret room highly enough.

Of course, you will then need to visit the ferrets and play with them for
extended periods of time in that cool, comfy room... : )

Cheers,
