Here is the URL to a very excellent article researched and written by a
non-practicing vet when I sent her photos of White Russian and Charlie to

The reason I'm posting this is that, although it's on the links page of
Russian's site, I doubt many people have seen it.  I believe it is a
fairly easy to understand article about Aleutian disease...which give
good, basic information for people who really don't know much about it.
